Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to join our team. As an Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimating process for construction projects. This is a key role in our organization, as accurate and competitive estimates are crucial to the success of our projects.
Duties:
- Manage and lead a team of estimators in preparing accurate and timely estimates for construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Utilize construction estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Develop and maintain a cost database to ensure accurate pricing for materials, labor, and equipment
- Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Collaborate with the procurement team to obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients
- Negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project management
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other technical documents
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with clients and subcontractors
